"If America is going to be great again, America must be faithful again, so pray that she will be." - Rich Lusk I am filled with thankfulness this morning over yesterday's election results firstly because I deeply believe we do not deserve them. I believe Trump miraculously survived two assassination attempts, two impeachments, 9 years of constant character slander, 9 years of weaponized institutions, unending attacks by the mainstream media, attempted imprisonments via 91 charges etc etc only to soundly defeat his opponent? Only by God's mercy did that happen. Why? I don't know, but I would guess God heard the groaning of his people who had been under insufferable exasperation and had been crying out for deliverance. Going forward we need to remind ourselves that we are not looking for a political savior, for our problems are spiritual, and our societal problems are a result of a deeper underlying spiritual sickness. Christians in the United States need revival, which looks a lot like simple obedience and faithfulness to God's word. We need to fear God not man and look to his word for guidance on how we are to live and obey his commands. The men in our country need to repent for our rebellion. We've been rebellious to God's word and have neglected our own spiritual well being and that of our families and even communities. God has given men the great calling of spiritual leadership and servanthood, and we have not obeyed, at great cost to every area of our lives. Many men are standing up saying they want to save our country, but God wants you to stand up and save your family and lead them spiritually to obey all that he has commanded. Mark 8:36 (ESV):"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" Or the souls in his family. If we want to see lasting fruit in our culture it will come from simple faithfulness and obedience to God's word. For Jesus said in John 14:15: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." May God help us to be faithful and obedient, for his glory and the good of all people.
